The disappointing United campaign is Onana’s fault

Amidst fire Andre Onana, the goalkeeper for Manchester United, stated that he joined the team in order to “take bullets” after a difficult 2023–24 Premier League season.

The Cameroonian was frequently criticized for committing a number of well-publicized errors in his first few months in England, but he went on to emerge as one of United’s greatest players in the second half of the season.

Onana feels that United is still building and that he, along with veteran players like Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, and Casemiro, should shoulder the burden for a disappointing year as a whole. United has fallen from third to eighth place in the Premier League.

“I don’t pay attention to it personally. We are not the best right now because we are still building,” Onana stated on the Overlap, as reported by the Express. “I have come into this team to take bullets.”

“We have to be honest and acknowledge that there are other teams performing better than us. Don’t try to handle problems with the youngest player; Bruno, Casemiro, Harry, and I are here to handle it and we are accustomed to it.

Sometimes it’s strange because we are in the same boat as the people who won everything and were seated where I am. We make an effort to emulate you and your actions. Although it might not bother me, it might have an impact on others. To be honest, I merely view it as a component of the game.
