Attorney for Cassie Calls Diddy’s “Disingenuous” Apology “Pathetic” and Slams the Rapper’s Remark

The attorney for singer Cassie Ventura recently criticized Sean “Diddy” Combs for his apology, pointing out that the troubled music producer had refuted all of the accusations before the graphic video of his attack on Cassie surfaced.

Diddy shocked a lot of people on Sunday when he posted a video on his Instagram page expressing his regret for mistreating Cassie. The rapper declared he is “committed” to becoming a better guy and mentioned that he sought therapy following the incident.

Due to the rapper’s outspoken defense of his innocence following the charges of abuse made against him by his ex-girlfriend and multiple other women, Cassie’s attorneys are not buying Diddy’s apologies.

Cassie’s attorney, Meredith Firetog, released a statement after Diddy’s apologetic video was made public, labelling Diddy’s remarks as “disingenuous.”

According to Firetog, Combs’ most recent remarks are more about him than the numerous people he has harmed. He denied everything and said that his victims were just seeking money when Cassie and several other women came out.”

She continued, “That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”

The rapper said he was accepting “full responsibility” for his behavior in the discovered surveillance footage in his apology video. Diddy said that following the incident, he sought treatment and checked himself into rehab because he was “disgusted” by what he had done.

The rapper remarked, “It’s hard to think back on your worst moments, but sometimes you have to. I was fucked up. I mean, I really did reach my lowest point, but I don’t apologize. My actions [in] the video are unacceptable. I accept all accountability for the things I did in that video. I’m abhorred. When I did it, I was disgusted, and I still am.”

He went on, “I went and I looked for expert assistance.” Had to start seeing a therapist. Rehab was necessary. needed to beg God for his forgiveness and grace. I really apologize. However, I’m determined to [be] a better man every single day. Furthermore, I’m not pleading for pardon. I apologize sincerely.”

CNN recently aired a video showing Diddy abusing Cassie, which caused a stir on social media.

In the brief, silent footage, Diddy is seen chasing Cassie while decked out in a towel. He meets her, throws her to the ground, and takes her by the neck.

He then gives her a hard kick to the body before turning to seize the singer’s belongings, which were waiting for her outside the elevator she had attempted to use to flee. Cassie lay on the hotel hallway floor, immobile, as all of this was going on.

Diddy then gave Cassie another hard kick before dragging her back down the corridor by her sweatshirt’s hoodie. Later, he was spotted sitting in what appeared to be the hotel room they were staying in, tossing a vase at Cassie.

The video purportedly corresponds with an assault incident that Cassie detailed in her lawsuit. In that lawsuit, Cassie claimed that a “very drunk” Diddy “punched” her in the face, “grabbed at her,” and then threw glass vases at her, causing the glass to shatter around them as she fled to the elevator.

Cassie filed a stunning complaint against Diddy in November of last year, alleging that he had committed acts of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and rape while they were together.

Unexpectedly, Diddy and Cassie reached an out-of-court settlement for an unknown sum of money just hours after the lawsuit was filed. The rapper’s decision to choose this course of action rather than clear his name in court sparked a lot of crazy speculation.

People Magazine reports that Tracy Walder, a former special agent, disclosed that the reason the troubled music mogul “settled so quickly” was because there was video of him hitting Cassie. Furthermore, according to Walder, the artist “never expected the video to get out.”

The former CIA agent claims that since Diddy is no longer alive, a felony assault prosecution cannot be brought against him.

“In California, there is a three-year statute of limitations for felonious attacks. She wouldn’t be able to press charges of assault or battery in Los Angeles because this was related to an incident that happened in 2016,” the law enforcement officer stated.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office has confirmed that Diddy will probably not face charges despite the evidence of his violent attack on Cassie.

An official statement from the district attorney’s office stated, “If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.” They also said that the video was “extremely disturbing and difficult to watch.”

In addition, they stated that the police had not yet notified them that the music mogul would be the target of a case, but they “encouraged” any victims or witnesses to get in touch with the Bureau of Victims Services.
