A transnational wanted person has being sought after in connection with arms trafficking, terrorism, and illicit gold mining in Zamfara.

Halilu Buzu, a terrorist leader and illegitimate proprietor of a gold mine in Zamfara State, was designated wanted by the military high command of Nigeria on Thursday.

Buzu is a native of the Republic of Niger’s Buzu.

According to the report, the livestock rustler and fugitive gold miner fled to Subbubu Forest and now resides in Shinkafi LGA in Zamfara State.

“His camp and illegal gold mine are located at Kawayi in Anka LGA of Zamfara State, where he has a lot of boys working for him,” stated Maj Gen Edward Buba, Director of Defense Media Operations (DDMO), during a press conference in Abuja.

“Halilu is a significant arms supplier, trusted by arms dealers to supply arms from Libya,” Buba stated. He flees across the border into the Republic of Niger as troops shut in on him.

“At this moment, we are pleading with the Nigerian authorities to detain and prosecute him for his crimes through the proper channels.

He declared, “We will be able to strike them out and take them off the battlefield as soon as possible because these terrorists are being relentlessly targeted by troops.”

“It is evident that the terrorists causing instability in our country will meet a violent and abrupt end,” Buba said. Soldiers will do whatever it takes to remove them from combat.
