Alleged Diddy Associate Will Enter Diversion Program, Avoid Prison Time in Drug Case

Following allegations that he was a “drug mule” for Sean “Diddy” Combs, Brendan Paul has reached an agreement that spares him from prison. After being detained at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport on March 25 on suspicion of possessing cocaine and cannabis-infused candies, Paul was scheduled to be arraigned in a Miami-Dade County courthouse on April 24. The day Diddy’s residences in Miami and Los Angeles were raided coincided with this arrest.

Brendan has agreed to join a diversion program after receiving an offer from the prosecution, according to Paul’s lawyer Brian Bieber. After he successfully completes the program, all accusations against him will be dropped.

This arrangement was also confirmed by a representative of the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, who clarified that it is a typical offer made to non-violent defendants who have never committed a crime before. Brendan was qualified for this program because his case did not entail the more serious allegation of trafficking, but simply narcotics possession.

The diversion program, which Paul has already signed up for, is supposed to run for roughly six months. The case is still pending throughout this time, but if he successfully completes the program, he won’t be subject to probation or jail time.

Brendan Paul was taken into custody on March 25 at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, as first reported by TMZ. During a search, authorities claimed discovered candies containing marijuana and cocaine in his hands. Paul was Diddy’s primary assistant at the time of his arrest.

Paul’s legal issues stem from a larger inquiry of Diddy, who has been the subject of attention due to a sex-trafficking investigation. Even though the probe is very serious, Diddy has continued to insist on his innocence. Diddy’s lawyer, Aaron Dyer, attacked the police for using what he considered a disproportionate amount of force when conducting the raids on his Miami and Los Angeles residences.
