If the US stops supplying arms, Israel is ready to “stand alone,” according to Netanyahu

Israel will fight with its fingernails, according to Netanyahu, even if Biden stops sending weapons to the nation.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel affirmed his country’s capacity to “stand alone” in response to the US threat that if Israel went ahead with a full-scale invasion of Rafah in Gaza, weaponry shipments may be suspended.

“If necessary, we’ll stand by ourselves. Netanyahu proclaimed, “I have said that if necessary, we will fight with our fingernails.”

In the event that an invasion of Rafah was to occur, US President Joe Biden suggested that some weapons, including as artillery shells, may be withheld. A bomb shipment had already been halted by the US due to worries about civilian fatalities.

Netanyahu, however, downplayed US warnings by highlighting Israel’s historical victory against all odds, invoking the War of Independence in 1948. We were the few versus the many in the War of Independence, which took place 76 years ago. We would not be armed. Israel was subject to an arms embargo, but we prevailed because of our tremendous spirit,” he said.

In response to a possible US arms embargo, Netanyahu affirmed Israel’s might by saying, “We have much more than our fingernails,” showing that he was confident in his country’s capacity to overcome obstacles.

Echoing Netanyahu’s remarks, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant affirmed Israel’s ability to withstand threats. “We will stand strong, we will achieve our goals,” he declared.

The remarks were made in the midst of reports of increasing violence and the exodus of over 80,000 Palestinians from Rafah due to continuous bombardment. Those taking refuge in the city reported shortages of food and gasoline.

At the onset of their campaign, Israeli forces had blocked the Rafah connection with Egypt and launched focused raids against Hamas elements within the city.

The UN declared that accessing the reopened Kerem Shalom crossing with Israel by its personnel and trucks would be too risky. Biden’s warning about the supply of weapons was triggered by the potential for a full-scale invasion.

Concerns regarding civilian losses and the conflict’s larger strategic goals were echoed in Biden’s remarks. The White House pushed for military action to be limited while highlighting the importance of our common objective of vanquishing Hamas.

As airstrikes impacted residential areas in Rafah, rumors of injuries persisted, further intensifying tensions in the area.

According to Biden, Palestinian people have been killed by American bombs. “I’m not supplying the weapons that have been used historically to deal with Rafah if they go there,” he declared.
