Rangnick declines Bayern’s offer to stay in Austria

Finally, Ralf Rangnick has tempered Bayern Munich’s pursuit of him, having been in negotiations with the Bundesliga team in recent days to succeed Thomas Tuchel.

Rangnick became the head coach of the Austrian national team in 2023, and he was able to get them qualified for the forthcoming June 14–July 14 European Championship.

Although he is under contract with Austria until 2025, there have been rumors lately that he may quite due to interest from Bayern Munich officials in hiring him. However, following a round of negotiations, he has chosen to decline the offer and concentrate on Austria.

He declared in a statement, “I’m the Austrian team coach with all my heart.”

“I am determined to successfully continue on our chosen path and I really enjoy this task.”

“I want to be very clear that this is a decision for my team and our shared objectives, not a rejection of Bayern. We are focusing exclusively on the Euros. We’ll exert every effort to travel as far as we can.

In rejecting Bayern’s request to bring Thomas Tuchel back to the bench a few weeks ago, Julian Nagelsmann was also a coach who declined to work with Ralf Rangnick.
