Benzema returns to Real Madrid to receive injury treatment

Karim Benzema, the striker for Al-Ittihad, returned to Real Madrid on Wednesday, the Saudi Pro League team announced on social media.

The 36-year-old ended his 14-year career with Real Madrid after winning the Ballon d’Or in 2022 and transferred to Ittihad on a free transfer last summer.

Karim Benzema is having recurring muscle difficulties, so things aren’t going as well as they could be.

His club made the decision to arrange for Real Madrid to send him to Spain so that he could receive the proper care from his former Los Blancos doctor.

A request that Real Madrid granted in order to support their legend, who is contracted until 2026 and has scored 13 goals in 29 games in Saudi Arabia this season.

Al Ittihad released a statement saying, “Karim Benzema is undergoing further examinations in Real Madrid’s clinic with his former doctor in Spain, who supervised his care in previous years.”

“Real Madrid and Ittihad’s medical experts convened to discuss Benzema’s ailments, which kept him out of crucial games this season. Benzema is scheduled to return to Spain the following week, having already departed.
