Former UFC champion and boxer Francis Ngannou pays tribute to his 15-month-old son Kobe

Kobe, the 15-month-old son of Francis Ngannou, passed away tragically late on Monday. Several celebrities, including Conor McGregor and Ngannou’s trainer Eric Nicksick, expressed their sympathy to the boxer. Ngannou entered high-profile battles against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua after switching from the UFC to boxing last year.

Following the death of his 15-month-old son Kobe, Francis Ngannou is in mourning.
“Too soon to leave but yet he’s gone,” the 37-year-old wrote in a post on X to share the news.

“Kobe, my spouse, my companion, and my little baby, was a happy and vibrant person. He’s dead now, laying there. I kept calling out his name, but he didn’t answer.

“Beside him, I was the finest version of myself, and now I don’t know who I am. It’s so unfair that life hits us right in the most painful places. How would you handle something like that? What kind of lifestyle is that? If you have any suggestions, please share them with me; I’m at a loss on how to handle this.
Eric Nicksick, Ngannou’s trainer, expressed his support for the former heavyweight champion and talked about a “heavy few day”.

“Words can’t express the pain we all feel for the Ngannou family during this time,” said Nicksick.
“May this serve as a reminder of the frailty of life, and please remember Francis and his family in your prayers. Don’t forget to tell them you love them; tomorrow may not come.
Along with expressing his sympathies, former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor said, “I am so sorry to hear of your loss Francis, my prayers are with you and your family at this time.”

Ngannou entered a high-profile boxing match with Tyson Fury last year following a stint in the UFC.

In the highly anticipated ‘Battle of the Baddest’ fight in Saudi Arabia, he gave the reigning WBC world champion a serious fright until Fury won via controversial split decision.

In March, Ngannou fought Anthony Joshua again, losing via stoppage in the second round.
