Lookman desires to play for Atlanta in the Champions League

Ademola Lookman, who assisted Atalanta in defeating Empoli 2-0 on Sunday, has his sights set on earning a spot in the UEFA Champions League.

With his ninth goal in Serie A for 2023–24, the Nigerian international is having a great season with Le Dea after helping them defeat the Azzurri on the 51st minute.

With a game remaining, Gian Piero Gasperini’s team now sits sixth in the rankings, two points behind Roma, but with a superior goal differential.

With five Italian teams guaranteed seats in Europe’s top club league starting with the 2024–2025 season, the Lombardy team has a chance to surpass the Giallorossi for a last berth.

Lookman emphasized the significance of their most recent victory and thinks Atalanta is ready to close off the season with a bang, leading them to both the Copa Italia final and the Europa League semifinals.

We need to win this game in order to go to the Champions League. Winning today was essential, but we also have commitments in the Italian Cup and the Europa League,” the 26-year-old striker was cited by Napoli Magazine.

“We make a formidable team, but so do Roma. Even though we are aware that each game is challenging, we are prepared to try to win them all.
