Days after his conviction was reversed, Harvey Weinstein was admitted to the hospital

According to Harvey Weinstein’s attorney, his health is “kind of a train wreck.”

Harvey Weinstein was admitted to the hospital a few days after his New York rape conviction from 2020 was reversed, according to Arthur Aidala, his attorney.

According to Aidala, Weinstein’s health problems led to his transfer to a hospital in Manhattan on Friday. Weinstein was found guilty separately of rape in Los Angeles, and he is still being held in jail.

Concerned about Weinstein’s health, Aidala called him “somewhat of a train wreck health-wise” and said he needs a lot of medical attention. Later, Aidala disclosed that the New York City Department of Correction decided Weinstein needed “immediate medical attention,” so they sent him to the hospital.

According to Aidala, Weinstein is being monitored at Bellevue Hospital and is having a number of tests.

Weinstein was transferred to the Rikers Island detention facility on Friday after being housed at the Mohawk Correctional Facility since 2023. His medical conditions, which include diabetes, sleep apnea, heart problems, and vision concerns, have already been revealed by his attorneys. He was hospitalized for five days in 2020 because of persistent chest pain and heart issues.

Prior to Weinstein’s Wednesday court appearance, Aidala claimed that he had a meeting with the man on Monday.

This comes after Weinstein’s conviction was overturned by the New York Court of Appeals earlier this week due to an unfair trial. A fresh trial was ordered when the court determined that the prosecution had called witnesses whose accusations did not form part of the charges against the defendant.

In the 2020 trial, Weinstein was found guilty of raping Jessica Mann, a former actress, in 2013 and sexually abusing Mimi Haleyi, a former production assistant, in 2006. He received a 23-year prison sentence. The defense team for him contended that the interactions were voluntary.

Furthermore, Weinstein was given a 16-year prison sentence in California last year for raping an Italian actress and model in a Beverly Hills hotel in 2013.
