Tanzania In the Kariakoo Derby, Yanga SC defeats Simba SC to complete the fantasy double
After winning 2-1 in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Saturday, Young Africans (Yanga SC) continued to rule over their longstanding rivals, Simba.
At the same location, Yanga won 5-1 in the first leg match on November 5, 2023. In the 112 games that Yanga and Simba have played, this is their 40th win over Simba since 1965. Simba has amassed 32 victories and 40 draws.
Moreover, Yanga outscored Simba by 120 goals in their head-to-head matches. The boys from Jangwani Street have 160 points compared to Simba’s 136. With 58 points from 22 games, Yanga is now 12 points ahead of Simba, which is currently in third position with 46 points, and the win further reinforces Yanga’s supremacy at the top.
