Prior to the Cairo Derby, Kohler makes a request to his fans

Before the Cairo Derby, Al Ahly head coach Marcel Koller has urged all of the team’s supporters to show their support.

Al Ahly and Zamalek, two of the biggest football teams in Egypt, will play each other in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday at Cairo International Stadium.

Koller emphasized the significance of more Al Ahly supporters showing up for the Cairo Derby after leading the Red Eagles to a 1-0 victory over ZED in a league match on Thursday.

The Swiss strategist stated on the club’s official website that “matches between Al-Ahly and Zamalek have a special atmosphere.”

The players understand the significance of these kind of matches, and we will prepare for this one accordingly. We won the cup final, so I anticipate that they will be really motivated.

According to a club statement, Kohler expressed his desire for a sizable crowd at the Zamalek match because it is a crucial element and serves as a strong source of motivation for the players. The team also mentioned that they are used to the pressure of matches and alternate players to handle it, and that Al-Ahly is the only team on the continent that experiences this kind of pressure, which leads to a lot of injuries.

Despite having four games and two matches left to play, respectively, Al Ahly and Zamalek are ranked ninth and twelfth in the league standings.
