Leader of Hamas Responds to Killing of Three Sons: “Thank God”

Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, thanked God on Wednesday while confirming that an Israeli airstrike in the Gaza Strip earlier in the day had killed three of his kids.

After the killings, Haniyeh is reported to have told Al Jazeera, “I thank God for this honor that he bestowed upon us with the martyrdom of my three sons and some grandchildren.”

The Palestinian militia Hamas-run station Al-Aqsa TV said that Hazem, Ameer, and Mohammed Haniyeh, along with other family members, perished in the hit close to the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City.

As per the report by Al-Aqsa TV, the brothers were occupants of a vehicle when it was hit by an Israeli drone. Apart from the siblings, the tragedy is said to have claimed the lives of a son and daughter of Amir and a daughter of Hazem Haniyeh.
