Liverpool: A look at Ruben Amorim’s background – might the Sporting coach be the next Jurgen Klopp?

As Liverpool’s brilliant tenure under Jurgen Klopp draws to a conclusion, Sporting Lisbon coach Ruben Amorim is being strongly linked to take over as the Reds’ next manager.

Although Xabi Alonso was initially favored to take over as manager at Anfield, the former midfield player has made his commitment to Bayer Leverkusen.

The two names most heavily linked to the position are Roberto de Zerbi and Amorim. While most Reds supporters are familiar with the Brighton manager, the Portuguese man is more of an unknown.

Even though he isn’t 40 yet, he has a long family history.

At the young age of 36, Amorim guided the Portuguese team to their first league title in 19 years when they won it in 2021. As a result of their achievement, he was connected to several elite teams throughout Europe.

What can be anticipated from Amorim by Liverpool supporters, what is his approach to management, and is he charismatic enough to take Klopp’s place? BBC Sport examines.
