Petro Out To End Mazembe’s Dream Of A CAFCL

On Saturday, Petro de Luanda and TP Mazembe will play in the CAF Champions League quarterfinal.

The match begins at 18:00 CAT.

The second leg match is set to take place in Luanda, the capital and largest city of Angola, at Estádio 11 de Novembro.

At the Stade du TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, on March 30, Petro frustrated Mazembe in their first-leg match, which ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

Alexandre Guedes, a Portuguese forward who scored twice during the group round of the Champions League this season, is Petro’s best scorer. The Angolan champions will be eager to defeat Mazembe.

Glody Likonza and Cheick Oumar Abdallah Fofana, who each scored twice in the group stage, are Mazembe’s main performers and might play a significant role in the Congolese champions’ victory in Angola.

The Petro and Mazembe winner on penalties or overall will go to the semi-finals, where they will play either Tanzania’s Simba SC or Al Ahly of Egypt.
