DCI breaks silence about Davido’s claim to be detained at JKIA

The Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has dismissed reports of the detention of Nigerian superstar David Adedeji Adeleke aka Davido. A local news channel had reported that the Afrobeat’s singer was detained at the JKIA airport after drugs were found on his private plane.

The report was however untrue, which the DCI confirmed through their official social media pages on Monday morning. The detectives also attached their report with a screenshot of the headline “Davido detained at JKIA after Ksh18m package of cocaine found on his private plane.”

On that screenshot, they stamped the ‘Fake News’ warning.

The newsroom that published the story later clarified that it was just a joke intended for April Fools’ Day.

Contrary to fake news, Davido gave an exciting show at the Raha Fest held at Uhuru Gardens last weekend. The Nigerian star arrived at the concert venue on Saturday evening with heavy security and his entourage arrived on stage as fans clamored to see him.

Davido invited Kenyan star Bien Aime as a surprise guest to perform with as the crowd screamed with joy. The energy from the crowd was unmatched as fans of the singer described the event as an unforgettable experience.

“Brooooo! DAVIDOOO isssaaavibeeeee. Say let’s put on a concert by Diamond, Davido, Nyashinski, Mejjaaa and Bieen or sound sool” explained one fan. Fans showed their unwavering support by singing along to him as he performed his hits.
