Arsenal broke two records that Man City has held for a long time by drawing 0-0

The two teams fighting for the EPL 2023/24 trophy, Arsenal, and Manchester City, on Sunday played an exciting match at the Etihad Stadium which ended in a 0-0 draw. It was the first time in many months that Man City failed to score at home. City had scored in 47 consecutive EPL matches at the Etihad before going up against Arsenal’s defense on Sunday.

The last time the EPL 2022/23 champions failed to score at the Etihad was in October 2021 when they lost 0-2 against Crystal Palace. Sunday’s match was very important for the two teams as both are determined to stay in this year’s championship race, which has proved to be very difficult.

Liverpool, who were also in the race earlier in the day, secured a 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion to go top of the table. Goals from Luis Diaz and Mo Salah put Jurgen Klopp’s men ahead and put them in the best position to win the cup at the moment.

Mikel Arteta also managed to break another record at Arsenal by avoiding another defeat by Man City at the Etihad Stadium. By drawing against the 2022/23 EPL winners, Arteta managed to prevent another win from them, something they haven’t managed to do since 2016.

The last time the Gunners were unbeaten at the Etihad Stadium was in May 2016 when they drew 2-2.

Liverpool are currently at the top of the EPL 2023/24 table with 67 points, Arsenal are in second place with 65 points while Man City are in third place with 64 points.
