Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed he got a pacemaker installed after multiple open-heart surgeries
- Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger disclosed he “became a little more of a machine” after he lately had a pacemaker installed.
Schwarzenegger, 76, who is compelling a doze to his character in the “Terminator” movies he starred in, revealed the news Monday through his podcast “Arnold’s Pump Club.”
“First of all, I want you to know I’m doing great,” he says during the podcast, adding that he underwent surgery a week ago. “By Friday, I was already at a big environmental event with my friend and fellow fitness crusader Jane Fonda … Nobody would have ever thought I started the week with a surgery.”
Schwarzenegger was born with a bicuspid aortic valve, an inherited heart problem. His mother and grandmother both passed away due to heart complications.
He has undertaken three heart surgeries in the past, including open heart surgery in 1997. The regulators individually survived 21 years.
The Hollywood superstar had replacement valve surgery in 2018, with doctors replacing one of two valves, and he proceeded on to have the second valve replaced in 2020.
