Ukraine Secures Euro 2024 Qualification with Win Over Iceland During War Battles

Regardless of facing the constant war since Russia’s invasion in February 2022, Ukraine guaranteed a spot in Euro 2024 after crushing Iceland 2-1 on Tuesday.

This win brought a spark of happiness to a country intensely distressed by the war.

After falling behind to an early goal from Iceland’s Albert Gudmundsson, Viktor Tsygankov and Mykhailo Mudryk scored vital goals in the second half, ensuring Ukraine’s qualification for the European Championship.

Expressing appreciation for the team’s victory, President Volodymyr Zelensky praised the players for bringing substantial excitements and honor to the whole country.

Looking forward, Ukraine will compete in Group E alongside Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania at the approaching European Championship in Germany.
