Kenya Government to Create Commercial Facilities in the US and Other Key Markets

The Kenyan government has uncovered a determined idea to begin a network of commercial facilities around the world, aiming to boost the country’s economic growth and increase its export trajectory.

This proposal, outlined in the Fourth Medium Term Plan (MTP IV) 2023-2027, highlights the government’s commitment to raising new trade markets and strengthening key industries. The cornerstone of this plan involves the establishment of nearly 50 commercial centers across the world. These centers, intentionally located in countries like Nigeria, Senegal, the United States, Morocco, Germany, and China, will serve as platforms to showcase and boost Kenyan goods and services.

This pursued approach aims to unlock new markets for Kenyan exports, involving a diverse range of products from tea and dairy to leather goods, textiles, and construction materials. To further improve the ease of access of Kenyan exports, the idea also proposes the creation of warehouses and distribution centers in major locations. This network will rationalize the distribution process and ensure Kenyan products reach global markets efficiently.
