Dusit D2 attack hero Joseph Azuza Chama was put down to rest on Saturday beside his mother after terribly ending his life on the busy Thika Road highway.
Azuza, who showed bravery in the face of armed terrorists during the attack at DusitD2 by Al-Shabaab radicals, took his personal life after exit Kenyatta Funeral Hospital, where he had gone to see his late mother’s remains.
However, he was not capable to view her body as the facilities were not offering services to clients on Sunday.
On their way back home, Azuza, exhausted by grief, hopped out of a moving taxi near Muthaiga on Thika Road. He was in the taxi with PAG priest Chama Enos Anzigare and his brother.
“The family stated that he was unsettled throughout the journey. When they left the mortuary heading to Kangemi PAG for fundraising, he suddenly jumped out of the car and rolled to the edge,” a police officer in Muthaiga stated, adding, “He then rolled back onto the road, and two oncoming vehicles fatally struck him.”
Azuza joined Red Berets FC in 1998 and was later enrolled into the police force in 1999 due to his behavior and work ethics.
