Africa Games: Ghana Too Good For Tanzania, Eye Semi-Final Spot

Ghana’s U20 women’s team showcased their strength, showing an incredible return to defeat Tanzania 2-1 in their Group A match at the 13th African Games in Cape Coast on Tuesday.

The game started with Tanzania securing an early goal in the 23rd minute when Hasnath Linus Ubamba discovered the back of the net, surprising the Ghanaian side. Regardless of the setback, Ghana continued to put the pressure, focused on getting back into the game.

Right before going into the halftime, Ghana’s Tracy Twum leveled the score with an amazing goal in the 45+2nd minute, restored energy and belief back into the home team.

Their hard work paid off in the 64th minute when Mukarama Abdulai added the decisive goal, placing Ghana ahead for the first time in the match. Even with Tanzania’s best attempts to mount a response, Ghana’s sturdy defense held firm, confirming a decisive victory and booked their spot in the semi-finals.
