HE WAS BURNED TO DEATH ON THE SUSPICATION OF THEFT – IPULI TABORA

One man who was not identified at once has been attacked by angry citizens and then set him on fire to death on suspicion of stealing money in a cold medicine shop around Ipuli in Tabora Municipality.

Speaking to CG FM, Mpera estate chairman Abdala Juma has said the young man estimated to be 20-25 years old is alleged to be a resident of Mwanza Road and that after an attempted robbery, angry citizens beat him and set him on fire.

The owner of the cold medicine shop when the robbery occurred, Doto Anthony has said that the young man arrived at his shop as a customer looking for eye medicine and after the child who was in the shop went to call him, that is when he got the urge to enter the counter and collect money from the sales, an incident that was witnessed by a maize seller outside ya duka hilo.

Doto has said after calling him a thief citizens came out and attacked him with traditional weapons and then set him on fire.

The event took place yesterday Monday 12 February 2024 in the evening at the auction site.
