Israeli delegation in Cairo for negotiations on the agreement.

An Israeli delegation is heading to Cairo on Tuesday for new talks with US, Qatari and Egyptian officials on a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, including the release of Israeli and Hamas hostages, according to Israeli officials.

The head of the Mossad (Israel’s foreign intelligence agency), David Barnea, and the head of the Shin Bet (Department of internal security), Ronen Bar, will meet in Cairo especially with the director of the CIA, the main intelligence agency of the United States. Richard Burns, the officials added on condition of anonymity.

They will be joined by Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdelrahman Al-Thani, also Qatar’s top diplomat and negotiator of several Gaza ceasefire agreements in the past. No Hamas delegation has planned at this stage to go to Cairo to participate in these indirect talks sponsored by Qatar and Egypt, the AFP news agency reported, citing an official of the militant group Hamas on Tuesday morning.
