ZANZIBAR PRESIDENT AND CHAIRMAN

The president of Zanzibar and the chairman of the Revolutionary Council Hon. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi has met with the young ambassador of China Hon. Zhang Zhisheng who is doing his work in Zanzibar, to bid farewell after completing his term of service in the country on 29 January 2024, Zanzibar Palace.

President Dk. Mwinyi has thanked Ambassador Hon. Zhang Zhisheng for maintaining and strengthening the diplomatic relationship between Zanzibar and China during his three years of service to the country, also for well coordinating his visit to China last year.

President Dr. Mwinyi has said that China has continued to support Zanzibar and cooperate in various development projects including health sector by bringing doctors from China, funding education, building capacity, business, tourism, and presence of Chinese companies in various infrastructure projects of roads, ports, and at the airport.

President Dk. Mwinyi has invited investors from China to the tourism sector to build hotels by adding more Chinese tourists to visit Zanzibar.

President Dk. Mwinyi has said that Zanzibar will continue to cooperate and maintain relations with China that have reached 60 years.

Also, Ambassador Hon. Zhang Zhisheng has said China will continue to cooperate with Zanzibar to help various development projects and strengthen diplomatic relations.
