UGANDA UPDATES – YOWERI MUSEVEN

Uganda yesterday (Friday) marked the 38th Day of Liberation of the NRM when the National Resistance Movement (NRM) toppled the government that was in power at the time and took power in 1986 after a five-year jungle war in the country.

President Yoweri Museveni who led the forest war led the celebrations that took place at St. John Wakitaka Secondary School grounds in Jinja East.

The concert which broadcasted live took place under the theme,” Building a country we all value” according to the NRM ruling party Declaration 2021-26 “Safe Future to all Ugandans. “

“As we celebrate 38 years of NRM’s victory, I want to assure everyone including our guests and investors that Uganda will remain a country of peace, security and prosperity,” he said.

The President said his government will focus on providing free education, providing health services, and providing opportunities to produce property and employment to the youth in the country.

A total of fifty-three people were decorated and given badges in recognition of their contribution to the liberation movement in the country.
