Minister Urges Swift Compensation Payment by Singida Gold Mine to Residents

Minister of Minerals Hon. Anthony Mavunde has demanded Singida Gold Mine owned by Shanta Mine Company to speed up payment of compensation to citizens within the license area who were not yet paid. He said that on October 14, 2023 when he visited that mine in Ikungi district in Singida province to see for himself the development of the project. Minister Mavunde has said that the mine has done a great job in ensuring that they meet the requirements of the mining license and therefore it is important to expedite compensation payment to citizens who have not yet been paid. “I congratulate you for the steps you have taken in a short period of time, I urge you to speed up the issue of compensation for citizens who are not yet present, this will help you to do your activities without complaints from the citizens of the surrounding areas, and since there are few remaining I believe it will not take long” said Mavunde.
